Welcome — we’re so glad you’re here.Lackland Youth Theatre Company exists to bring collaborative beauty to our community. It’s a place to discover your own voice and, just as importantly, to listen to the voices of others. We believe in the individual, and we believe in the whole. The skills built through theatre don’t just prepare us for a career on stage, they shape how we live, connect, and grow every day.At the heart of theatre is empathy. Empathy bridges the actor and the character, the character and the audience, and ultimately the audience and the wider world. It expands our awareness of others, deepens our understanding of ourselves, and invites us to connect through shared emotion.At Lackland, theatre offers more than performance. Together we create moments to reflect, relate, and process the struggles and joys that make us human. It’s a shared experience with people you might otherwise pass by, a space that belongs to everyone in the room: actor, usher, technician, audience. Our theatre is dynamic, moveable, and alive. It holds up a mirror and asks: Who are you? How do you see others? It challenges us to engage, to collaborate, to feel, and to be fully present—together.
